Fever brings ‘The Jazz Room’ to Bilbao

Journey to heart of New Orleans with some jazz classics at Bilbao's Sala Azkena

Inspired by the Roaring ’20s, Bilbao’s Sala Azkena will transform into a New Orleans-style speakeasy with a jazz band playing some of the genre’s most famous tunes.

What is ‘The Jazz Room’?

Organised by Fever, the global entertainment company responsible for the iconic Candlelight concerts, ‘the Jazz Room’ takes inspiration from the 1920s jazz revolution in the United States’s deep south.

Throughout an hour-long concert, the talented band, equipped with trumpets, saxophones, cellos and other instruments, will go through some of the genre’s classics such as St. James Infirmary, When the Saints Go Marching In, Hello Dolly and much more.

Tickets costs €26 and at the moment there are two confirmed dates, with two shows a day. December 6 (19:00 & 21:00) and January 16 (19:00 & 21:00). However, places are selling out quick, so be sure to get yours quickly.

Where is Azkena Bilbao?

A classic Bilbao venue, famous for its rock concerts, Azkena is on Ibañez de Bilbao Kalea, close to Plaza del Ensanche. The nearest metro stations are Moyua and Abando (Berastegi exit).

Candlelight Concerts by Fever

Fever also put on a series of themed concerts played among candlelight at the stunning Iglesia de Encarnación in Atxuri (close to Casco Viejo).

The concerts cover a wide variety of themes, but are mostly tributes to famous musicians past and presents. For example, some upcoming concerts include tributes to Hans Zimmer, Coldplay, Queen, Ludovici Einaudi and Ennio Morricone.
