Anime film night at the Guggenheim Museum

The art museum is dedicating a film night to Anime, screening two movies of the genre

Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum will screen two Japanese anime movies on Saturday September 14.

In co-ordination with the Bilbao Anime Festival, the contemporary art museum has organised a double-header in its auditorium for anime film lovers. The films being screened are:

18:00 CEST – ‘Shirobako. The Film’ (2020. Directed by Tsutomu Mizushima. Dur: 119 mins.

20:20 CEST – ‘Komada: A Whiskey Family’ (2023. Directed by Masayuki Yoshihara. Dur: 91 mins.

Tickets, which can be purchased online or at the museum’s reception desk, will cost €3 for members and €5 for the general public.

*Both films will be shown in Japanese with Spanish subtitles.

On the Saturday morning, the museum will also put on a further event which should provide some added background for the screenings (weather permitting).

This event will be a nice teaser for ‘Japan Weekend‘, a day-long programme related to Japanese pop culture set to take place at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Barakaldo on October 5-6.
